Course Outline
Have you been working with skeletal anchorage for years, but sometimes faced limitations in your clinical practice?
Have you heard about the new TADs line and its additional components for a wide range of clinical
applications?
If you want to explore, learn, and take your skills to the next level, this is the course for you!
We will present in detail the entire new skeletal anchorage line, with its different lengths and
diameters, providing clinical indications and specific protocols. You’ll discover all the new add-on
components and how they can be applied clinically.
Together, we’ll dive into daily clinical practice, comparing procedures with aligners and skeletal
anchorage, focusing on different treatment possibilities and clinical protocols.
And that’s not all: the program includes a hands-on session where you’ll gain practical experience
in managing all the new components and therapeutic options.
Course Objectives
1. Discover the new TADs line – innovative protocols and fresh clinical possibilities
2. Aligner&TADs biomechanics at a glance – understand potential benefits and limitations
3. Master biomechanics in action – explore pros and cons of biomechanical systems in
different clinical situations with aligners and skeletal anchorage
Course Program
The importance of skeletal anchorage in orthodontics: a trend or scientific evidence?
When skeletal anchorage truly makes the difference: clinical indications.
Characteristics of TADs: from diameter to length – a guide to choosing the ideal TAD.
Rational selection of insertion sites and anatomical considerations.
How to insert TADs: clinical tips and procedures for interradicular, palatal, and extra-alveolar placement.
What risks am I taking? What could happen? Analysis of potential complications and their management.
The use of TADs in different clinical scenarios:
Innovation – new tools for new goals
• Digital 3D planning & indirect insertion protocols – advantages and
disadvantages of guided placement
• How to use the new TADs ALLAROUND: from palatal side to IZC and
Buccal Shelf
• Palatal skeletal anchorage for maxillary expansion – how, when, and
why!
• Maxillary distalization biomechanics – systems compared
• Lateral agenesis management – from orthodontics to post-orthodontic
workflows and protocols
• Hybrid approach – protocols combining skeletal anchorage with aligners
• Uprighting: a simple and predictable method
• Canine First – benefits and protocols
• Vertical problems & deep bite – effective strategies for control
• Failures, risks, and complications – how to prevent and manage tchem
Presentation of clinical cases illustrating diverse orthodontic scenarios and their
management
Discussion and Q&A
PRACTICAL SESSION
• Clinical workflows with the new scan bodies
• Hands-on TAD placement with the new TADs in various anatomical sites: from palatal to
infra-zygomatic
• Application of the new “Elephant” abutment – explore its clinical potential
• Bending power arms and cantilevers – practical biomechanical management
Dr. Giorgio Iodice obtained his dental diploma, specialization in orthodontics and doctorate at the University “Federico II” in Naples. He received a certificate of excellence in orthodontics in Italy from the Italian Board of Orthodnotics (IBO) and the European Board of Orthodontics. Since 2013, he has been a member of the examination committee of the Italian Board of Orthodontics.
He works as a Clinical Professor at the University of Naples, and is an active member of many orthodontic organizations, including: Sido, EOS, SIBOS, AIDOr and SIDA. His main clinical interests and research focus on the treatment of adult patients, the use of orthodontic mini-implants (TADS), occlusal relationships and temporomandibular disorders. He cooperates with domestic and foreign magazines, is the author of numerous publications and lectures at many congresses and symposia.
